CRITICALLY ANALYZED
Assumptions
That gender identity begins at conception (even though all scientifically, it doesn't).
That female=woman, and male=man.
Target
(d) "Female" means a person belonging, at conception, to the sex that produces the large reproductive cell
(e) "Male" means a person belonging, at conception, to the sex that produces the small reproductive cell
Analysis
Many individuals have countered these statements made by the government by stating all foetuses have "Female" reproductive systems until they mature. However, sex determination to occur, maturation of the foetus should happen. In fact, stating that the foetus has female reproductive parts is misleading as it hasn't yet matured.
Here are some time points that are important to note:
Until the 9th week of gestation, all foetuses develop in a similar fashion.
Around the 8th week, some foetuses undergo oogenesis that is the development of ova.
Between the 9th and the 12th week, some foetuses undergo a process called masculinization which refers to the development of penis instead of a clitoris, scrotum instead of labia majora.
There is a slight overlap between the oogenesis process and the masculinization process.
It is only after the 12th week that sex determination takes place.
So at conception, there is no sex determination.
Now, let us go back to what the White House proclaimed:
At conception, large reproductive cell equals F and small reproductive cell equals M.
Which is factually incorrect.
As at conception, there is no reproductive cell developing. So by the definition provided by the White House, since there is no M or F sex determination at conception, we are all non-binary at conception.
