About Me.

Nishita Rao is the Krantikari behind Pillow Talk With Nixi, an insurgent platform challenging colonial architectures across education, research, therapy, consultation, publication, archiving, and art through radical plurilogues, embodied inquiry, and anarchical resistance. She synthesizes transdisciplinary knowledge, decolonial praxis, and anti-institutional frameworks to reimagine the production, dissemination, and practice of knowledge.

She holds an MS in Neuroscience with a focus on Behavioral Neuroendocrinology and a BE in Biotechnology, specializing in Brain-Computer Interfaces & Phytochemistry. Her academic and professional training spans Sexual Sciences, Neuroscience, Anthropology, Molecular Biology, Behavioral Sciences, Political Science, Linguistics, Dance Ethnography, Ethnomusicology, and Paleoclimateology.

Nishita has been extensively trained by the US Veterans Health Administration (VHA) on trauma treatment modalities, Office for Victims of Crime Training and Technical Assistance Center (OVC TTAC)National Criminal Justice Training Center (NCJTC) and End Violence Against Women International (EVAWI) on forensics, and gender and sexual violence treatment, case interpretations and criminology, Violet on clinical training (BIPOC,TGNC, LGBQ) and Equitable Care Certification (ECC) on sex-worker-affirming trauma-informed care. She is currently undergoing sexual assault and domestic violence advocacy training as part of the National Advocate Credentialing Program (NACP).

At Subaltern Pavilion, Nishita features herself as a NeuroSocioPolitical Consultant, providing professionals with nuanced, context-sensitive understanding of their clients, examining how social structures, cultural contexts, and political systems shape brain development, behavior, and perceptions. Her expertise includes troubled desire, compulsive sexual behavior, racial, post-colonial, childhood, sexual and religious trauma.

At Soul Sync Sanctuary, as a Reiki Grandmaster, she integrates PsychoNeuroEndocrinology with Eastern philosophies and therapeutic modalities, crafting personalized, embodied healing pathways. The Sanctuary is explicitly kink-affirming, sex-worker-affirming, LGBTQQIA2SP-centered, People of the Global Majority-centered, historically underrepresented community-informed, and inclusive of immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers, and MAPs.

As a Transdisciplinary Scientist, at the Center for Integrated Human Studies, she delves into Neuroscience, Genetics, Anthropology, Psychology, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Linguistics, Political Science, Dance Ethnography, Ethnomusicology and Paleoclimateology, and more. Her research revolves around post-colonial imprints on human social and sexual attitudes, perceptions and behaviors.

Additionally, Nishita is also the First Indian AASECT Certified Sex Educator (CSE). She leads the InclusiSex Studies Intelligentsia in teaching 50+ courses ranging from Neuroscience, Genetics, Anthropology, Psychology, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Linguistics, Political Science, Dance Ethnography, Ethnomusicology and Paleoclimateology.

She also curates Polymath Archive, a free, anti-capitalist virtual library featuring BIPOC-authored texts designed to decolonize sexology spaces, to account for Global South's narratives in designing curricula. Nishita has intentionally favored the socialist model of knowledge acquisition, making this space a free resource for all.

She is the founder of the N. Rao Publications, an insurgent press producing revolutionary scholarship and decolonial discourses, including the Journal of Socio-Cultural Narratives, Indian Sextionary: A Lexicon of Pleasure, Profanity, and Resistance, and Zidd: A Krantikari’s Chronicle & Cartography.

Nishita also mediates the South Asian Sexuality Professionals: An Empowered Eros Alliance to foster inclusivity and cultural sensitivity within the South Asian diaspora, as professionals embark on a journey to develop culturally relevant and empowering sexology resources.

Finally, through Pixie Owlet, she explores Faunasonics, Traumagraphy, Literotica, and Critical Poetry, using art, sound and language to interrogate her embodied perceptions.

TL;DR

The Sanctuary is kink-affirming, sex-worker affirming, LGBTQQIA2SP-centered, People of the Global Majority-centered, historically underrepresented community-informed, and inclusive of immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers, and MAPs.
