Biopolitical Cartography

The module forges a critical lens on how power, privilege, and prejudice are inscribed on—and wielded through—our bodies, identities, and everyday systems. Through Whiteness Studies, we unpack the invisible norms that shape perception and entitlement, while Body Terrorism traces the neural and affective architectures of guilt, shame, and disgust. The Haute Seat exposes fashion’s gendered evolution as a site of both enforcement and emancipation, and Brushstrokes of Influence charts makeup’s role in political performance. In Beyond the Scale, we reveal the biases baked into anthropometric standards, and History Rewritten restores BIPOC innovators to their rightful place in our collective legacy. Breaking the Chains guides us through the renaming and reclamation of post‑colonial identity, and Prescribing Equity confronts medical disparities in BIPOC care. Digital Divide unmasks racism in algorithmic design, while Carnal Appetites interrogates how consumption itself becomes an erotic and economic battleground. Altogether, these ten courses form a dynamic roadmap for challenging—and ultimately re‑architecting—the biopolitical forces that govern our lives.
