Welcome to Applied Neuroscience ConsultingFrom Practical to Practice.

This space is dedicated to helping clinicians, therapists, educators, researchers and other professionals bridge the gap between cutting-edge neuroscience research and its application. Understanding the complex interplay between neuroscience, behavioral sciences, immunology, psychology and biopolitics is essential for effective care, and my mission is to provide you with clear, practical insights that enhance your ability to support your clients with confidence and compassion.

My approach integrates the trauma-informed research, culturally sensitive education, and somatic practices to address a wide spectrum of challenges including racial and post-colonial trauma, sexual abuse recovery, ADHD and ASD interventions, relational intimacy, and emotional regulation.

Whether you are seeking case consultations, treatment planning support, or guidance on incorporating neuroscience into your clinical, educational practice or research, I provide tailored consultations designed to empower your work. I am committed to creating affirming spaces for BIPOC, LGBTQIA2SP+ communities, survivors of sexual abuse, and sex worker+ populations.

Thank you for visiting — I look forward to partnering with you to translate neuroscience from practical knowledge into effective practice.

I brought in a case involving a man struggling with what he labeled 'porn addiction.' He was experiencing erectile issues in partnered sex but not during solo porn use, and he reported escalating shame and binge behaviors after attempts to quit.
The advice I received completely re-oriented my approach: I was reminded that ‘porn addiction’ doesn’t follow traditional addiction circuitry like substance use disorders do. Instead, we looked at how Pornography-related Problems arising from Moral Incongruence (PPMI) to understand this behavior. The most powerful reframe Nishita shared was: "Treat porn as medicine, not poison." This unlocked an entirely new way of supporting the client — without reinforcing shame, guilt, or disgust.
